| Publishing and distributing a magazine, especially one with as wide a
circulation as Yuti, is a costly undertaking. Yet - for obvious
reasons - we do not wish to make our young readers pay for Yuti, nor do
we wish to turn our magazine into a commercial advertising medium.
Sri Lanka Solidarity's parent charity, Solidarité Laïque, has funded the first
year of publication, and keeps supporting us, but Yuti's future existence depends
on the goodwill of other donors both in Sri Lanka and overseas. This is an
appeal to those who wish to see Sri Lanka's children emerge from the shadow of one
of the world's worst-ever natural disasters and continuing conflict: those who are
willing to help and guide them as they grow to adulthood and begin the long, difficult
process of rebuilding their nation. We urge you to consider Yuti as a worthy
recipient of your generosity, to become partners with us in an effort that will,
we believe, reap great benefits for the people of a country which has
suffered so many misfortunes in recent times.
